CARDIAC ON CAMPUS’ 2023 YEAR IN REVIEW:

Thank you for your generous gift to Cardiac on Campus in 2023! Your contribution has made it possible for Cardiac on Campus to continue our initiatives of preventing sudden cardiac arrest.
Here is what we accomplished this year thanks to supporters like you:

RED TUTU TROT 2023

We hosted our eighth annual Red Tutu Trot with a record-breaking attendance of over 250 participants from across 13 states. With the support of the Madison community and engaged sponsors, we successfully expanded cardiac health awareness and education about preventing sudden cardiac arrest. This knowledge contributes to a safer community, as it gives individuals the power to potentially save a life.

CPR CERTIFICATIONS

In 2023, we certified over 300 people in CPR, increasing the number of people with life-saving skills in our community. We also trained hundreds more through informal CPR training sessions by partnering with local sports teams and student organizations.

ECG DRIVES

In 2023, we screened about 270 individuals at two ECG screening drives held in the spring and fall. Offering free ECG drives expands access to preventative measures. This year alone, our ECG drives detected 11 abnormal heart rhythms.

WHAT'S TO COME

Picture
In 2024, we will continue to work towards preventing sudden cardiac arrest. Cardiac on Campus’ three-month forecast includes placing an AED in the Graduate Hotel off of State Street, training new CPR instructors, and continuing to offer CPR classes throughout the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus.

Thank you again for your dedication to bettering our community.
Wishing you the best,
Co-Presidents Maddie Kranz and Molly Pederson
Vice President Erica Loe
